Holly Abbott from TIDC – Best Youth Female Performer
CONGRATULATIONS to Holly Abbott for winning Best Youth Female Performer at the TASA Awards tonight for her role as Annie in NLTC.
Holly is the third TIDC Youth Performer to win theatre awards over the last few years.

TIDC Performing Arts Studio are excited to announce that one of our recent old scholars Kate Doyle, will be heading off to Disneyland to work for 6 months from August.
Also another old scholar Paige Dobie, will also be heading off in a week to the USA to work at the Summer Camps. Very excited for you both!

May 2018 Competitions
Wow, what a week(end) it has been for so many TIDC performing arts studio students! While the troupes were competing at the Destiny Star, most of our soloists were competing at the Rainbow Dance. There were many happy faces all round and as usual – our students had fun, fun, fun. There were also few trophies and awards to mention.
At Rainbow competitions, TIDC has featured 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th for the Top Stars of Tomorrow Solo 8 & Under; 5th in Top Stars of Tomorrow Solo 12 – 14; 1st and 2nd in Top Stars of Tomorrow Duet/Trio 8 & Under. We had 2 finalists in Stars of Tomorrow Petite Ultimate Dancer, one finalist for the Stars of Tomorrow Junior Ultimate Dancer, and for Stars of Tomorrow Teen Ultimate Dancer. A number of students were invited for a Workshop in New York for their high scores. A coupe of students were called for their Outstanding Performance in Solo 8 & Under, one in the Solo 9 – 11 category and all of the awards for the Outstanding Performance for Duet/Trio 8 & Under went to TIDC Performing Arts Studio! And a couple of performance in the Duet/Trio 9 – 11 category went to TIDC Students. Finally a few special awards were received by TIDC students, such as the Mascot awards and the the Most Photogenic award.

Sunday, 3rd June 2018 has been another great day for TIDC students shining at the ATOD Scholarship and all qualifying for the Nationals in Melbourne . ATOD are leaders in the field of dance education. With the highest integrity ATOD deliver quality, innovative training systems and services. Welcome to the TIDC Performing Arts Studio
TIDC PERFORMING ARTS STUDIO (formerly Total Image Dance Company) is one of the top theatrical schools in South Australia offering a comprehensive range of study in performing arts, including jazz, tap, classical, contemporary dance, hip hop, cheerleading, boyz only classes and musical theatre classes incorporating dance, drama and singing.
TIDC performing arts are now taking enrollments for 2014 after an amazing year in 2013. 2014 will see students invited to perform in Disneyland Hong Kong, Disneyland Paris and at Saddlers Wells Theatre as well as both local and national eisteddfods.
Students in 2013 went onto performing in King Kong the musical, Disney Japan, New York, Moulin Rouge and Carabean Cruises to name a few. Contact us via Facebook or our website’s contact form.
We also pride ourselves in offering students many opportunities in both the musical theatre and classical companies throughout Adelaide and Australia. TIDC is run by Kerreane Sarti who has gathered together a wealth of experienced and talented teachers who have been former dancers and choreographers. Kerreane is proud to offer a school that has something to offer to everybody – for the person who wants to come once a week for fun and fitness to the dedicated performer who wants to learn a variety of performance styles and be pushed to an elite level. Please note that West Croydon Studio now also offers SACE dance classes from Year 10 upward.
Classes are offered for fun, fitness and the professional student, and encourage confidence, deportment and flexibility in a safe, caring and friendly environment.
WHAT LEVEL OF COMMITMENT IS FOR YOU?
NON -COMPETITIVE LEVEL – FUN and FITNESS
Non-competitive level stream classes have no compulsory classes attached and are not entered in eisteddfods. They do all perform in the end of year concert and all students are given equal chance to be in the front, build confidence and have fun.
COMPETITIVE LEVEL – DEDICATED DANCER
Competitive Stream classes aim toward competitions and/or exams. Ballet exam students must attend two classes per week, tap and jazz exam students in teams must be committed to classes for technique. Those interested in competitions must also do at least one technical class in ballet, contemporary or stretch. This Stream is a stepping stone for those children who, as they get older, want to further studies both at school and tertiary level, or perhaps move to teaching. This commitment is expected from Under 10 level upward only.
ADVANCED DEDICATED DANCER
This is a program designed for our most talented older students to push them to a new level in dance. This is an acknowledgement of your child’s talent, enthusiasm and loyalty to TIDC Performing Arts Studio. You must be already doing exams and competitions to be considered.
WHY HAVE DIFFERENT STREAMS?
We offer different streams so everyone can be working at the level of commitment they choose. As our school has grown over the years we realised that not everyone wants to be competitive and not everyone was here “just for fun”. Some people are very serious about their dancing and want to make it their number one commitment.
This year we will introduce the advanced stream for our students who want even more. These students want to be competitive with some of the best schools in Australia and be at an elite level and live for dance.
We certainly do not promote any individual or group to feel they are “higher” or “better” than the other – just there for different reasons. What we do foster is for all students to ENCOURAGE each other & build confidence in every stream. A lot of children can be discouraged if working in a level that is too hard for them and having different streams allows teachers to move at a pace that that level requires.
At the end of each year students will be reviewed to see if they should be invited to elite the following year.

Both studios at West Croydon offers a small office, separate changing rooms and toilets for boys and girls, a waiting room and two rehearsal rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned and mirrored.

TIDC Performing Arts Studio at Elizabeth has been opened since 2006, although the Elizabeth location for TIDC has been in existence for a while… The studio has four rehearsal rooms with two rooms featuring a lovely painted mural. There are also changing rooms, a large waiting room, a large performance room and a large storage room, where we keep all our stage props. All rooms are air conditioned and mirrored. Golden Grove Studio is located in a lovely surroundings of the Golden Grove Recreation Centre, making everyone feel more relaxed and ‘at home’ with the large TIDC family. We also hold classes at Dame Roma Mitchell Theatre, Golden Grove High School. All rooms are air conditioned to ensure comfort for our dancers and teachers. About Parents
Do parents come into class?
No we find children respond better to the teachers if parents are not in the class. Naturally if they are upset we would not hesitate to come and get you, so do recommend you stay around in the waiting area, especially in the first few weeks. At two of the studios there are viewing areas. There is now a tv monitor in operation for the under 5 classes in the Elizabeth Studio.

About Teachers
ARE YOUR TEACHERS QUALIFIED?
Unfortunately there are many studios that this is not the case but all teachers at TIDC performing arts studio are qualified or in training for their Teachers Certificate, they are also required to have police checks under the TIDC safe dance policies, so please feel assured your children are in safe hands.

Performances
Will they get to Perform?
The excitement of performing is something that even the young ones have the opportunity to be involved in. At the end of first and third term there will be an open class where everyone can come along and watch a normal class. In second term there will be a small display in leotard only but it will be held onstage, but this is not compulsory. Then at the end of the year it’s the opportunity for costumes and make-up and full performances, where the whole school comes together for a concert – again this is not compulsory and costumes can either be purchased or hired.
For those extra keen there is also the opportunity of competitions or assesments, but this is your choice.
